Goya Menor – Ameno Amapiano (Remix) ft. Nektunez

December 30, 2021 0

Talented Africa’s performers, Goya Menor unleashes the remix to popular “Ameno Amapiano” sound.

Presumably, Goya Menor looks set for the future as he puts Nektunez on the register. “Ameno Amapiano” (Remix) is his latest addition where Nigerians are getting glued to their speakers. Currently, the jam is peaked on number 13 on top 20 Apple Music chart in Nigeria and also dominating in different regions.

TikTok has lifted a lot of young music sensations recently with Goya Menor the recent name penned. Stars like AV, Jaywillz, Fave are all due to the influence of social media and as it stands, more talents will be up in 2022.

“Ameno Amapiano” (Remix) is a massive breakthrough for Goya Menor and his camp. They are going to make use of this opportunity and showcased to the world what their sounds are currently made of. “No record label, No Budget, No Special Plan, No Sponsor” was his exact words as he appreciates fans who made the single a global rhythm.

Originally, “Ameno” was owned and recorded by E.R.A during the 90s and since last year, the song is frequently used by Nigerian content creators as soundtrack for videos and skit making. Goya Menor brings his own version on the table and it is currently causing fuss both off and online.

Apparently, Nektunez came through with his midas touch. His production instinct was enough to align with Goya Menor’s mindset as they come up with such a wonderful studio piece tagged “Ameno Amapiano” (Remix).

Ameno Amapiano” (Remix) has some catchy lyrics like:

“you want to bam bam
you want to chill with the big boys (you wanna chill with the big boys)
na you dey run kitikiti you dey run katakata
you no fit drink water drop cup
ha! hey! shey you see how the thing goes?
how the thing goes”

English Premier League (EPL) to enforce new Covid measures

December 15, 2021 0

As part of the new measures agreed yesterday, Premier League players and staff will be required to take daily side flow tests to enter the training ground.

The move is meant to stop the number of positive cases from growing.

The Premier League confirmed on Monday that there had been a record 42 positive results in the last seven days.

This is the highest score recorded since the start of the Covid-19 test as part of Project Restart in the 2019-20 season.

Previously, the most positive tests in a week of the season were 16 of August 16-22 when there were 3,060 tests.

Outbreaks at Tottenham and Manchester United have caused two league games to be postponed in space of three days, while Brighton, Leicester, Aston Villa and Norwich all have confirmed cases.

In addition to the daily tests to enter the training ground, players and staff will now receive PCR tests at least twice a week, as was the case last season before switching to side streams in the summer.

Before now, players who tested positive with the rapid test carried out a PCR test to confirm the results.

The measures are expected to be implemented quickly, with the use of additional masks, restrictions on physical care, and social distancing recommended to reduce the risk of new cases.

Last week, following the introduction of new coronavirus rules in England, the Premier League urged clubs to return to emergency measures, including social distancing and wearing masks.

MTN, MAFAB, emerge winners of licences for NCC’s 5G spectrum auctioning

December 14, 2021 0

The Mobile Telephone Network (MTN) and MAFAB Communications Limited have both been awarded the slots for the 3.5 gigahertz (Ghz) Fifth Generation (5G) Technology spectrum as they emerged winners of the auction by the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC).

The auctioning was organised on Monday, November 13, in Abuja, by NCC, in conjunction with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

The 5G Technology spectrum auction ended with the total sum of $273.6 million per lot of 100 MHz TDD with the bidding in 2 stages that came in Main stage and Assignment stage.

In the assignment stage, two slots of 100MHzTDD available at 3.5GHz band were for bidding to support the delivery of broadband services for the deployment of 5G in Nigeria.

The bidders which were Mobile Telephone Network (MTN), Airtel Nigeria and MAFAB Communications ended at the Main stage, dropping down to two bidders.

This disclosure is contained in a press statement issued by NCC and signed by its Director, Public Affairs, Ikechukwu Adinde, and can be seen on its website.

The NCC was auctioning two slots in the 3.5 gigahertz (Ghz) 5G spectrum.

The first round of the auction, which took off with the three bidders, started with the price of the spectrum $197.4 million to $199, 374 million until it ended in round 10 at $263,017,050.77 million.

What the Executive Chairman of NCC is saying

NCC’s Executive-Chairman, Professor Umar Danbatta, who announced the results, maintained that the commission followed due process for the bidding with the winners expected to pay on February 24, 2022, with the prevailing Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) exchange rate.

He recalled that the allocations at the international level were granted approval for 5G trial in Nigeria in November 2019.

Danbatta said, “The auction held successfully today, Monday, December 13, 2021, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja with the three bidders competing for the available two slots. The Commission adopted the Ascending Clock Auction format which ended after Round 11 and proceeded to the Assignment Stage. It is my pleasure to announce that at the end of the auction, Mafab Communications Limited and MTN Communications Nigeria Limited emerged as provisional licence winners.

Arising from the above, the Winning Bid Price for the Auction is USD$273,600,000 for each lot of 100 MHz TDD.’’

He congratulated the winners and thanked the government for its support and commitment to the deployment of 5G technology in Nigeria.

He said this would bring sustainable network improvements, higher connection speed, mobility and capacity as well as low latency capacities to Communications services in Nigeria.

He said, “The Provisional Licence Winners are expected to pay the Winning Bid Price less the Intention-to-Bid Deposit, by Feb. 24, 2022. We are happy to state that the Auction process was efficient, fair, well-organised and transparent, and was designed to deliver the ideal outcome.

“Accordingly, the strongest bidders have emerged provisional winners, raising a substantial amount for the Federal Government. Today’s auction represents a culmination of all the efforts at the international and national levels that have prepared Nigeria for this momentous leap forward.

“The auction is based on the powers bestowed on the Commission by Section 121 of the Nigerian Communications Act 2003 as well as the Licensing Regulations 2019.’’

In case you missed it

Recall that earlier in December, the NCC announced the approval of MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, Airtel Networks Ltd and Mafab Communications Ltd., as qualified bidders of the forthcoming 3.5 gigahertz (Ghz) spectrum auction.

The selected bidders met the criteria for participation in the licensing process of 3.5 GHz spectrum, including payment of the stipulated Intention to Bid Deposit (IBD) as outlined in the Information Memorandum (IM).

Also, a mock auction was organized on December 10.

Mikel Arteta ''to take captain's armband off Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Arsenal due to disciplinary breach as three man shortlist emerge''

December 13, 2021 0

Mikel Arteta reportedly has three candidates to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Arsenal captain.

Recall the Gabon international was left out of the squad against Southampton due to a disciplinary breach over the weekend and could now have the skipper's armband taken off him.

Mikel Arteta reportedly has three candidates to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Arsenal captain.

Recall the Gabon international was left out of the squad against Southampton due to a disciplinary breach over the weekend and could now have the skipper's armband taken off him.

Former Gunners hero Martin Keown said: "The captaincy is in question now. You can’t keep being late or disappearing on trips abroad and not coming back on time, your team needs you and he’s not there when you need him most so I expect that to change.”

Arteta refused to discuss whether he would demote the forward and look to appoint a new skipper, but it's a genuine possibility that Arsenal could have a new club captain.

The Spaniard said: "He had a disciplinary breach, that applies to everybody. That's a non-negotiable and when that happens he’s out of the team. Whatever happens in the dressing room, I cannot share. I am sorry.

"I’m telling you the reason, I cannot lie, it was that, this is where I stand. From my side, I will never [say what the breach was.]"

While there is no standout candidate to take the armband off Aubameyang at the moment, three stars have been listed as the potential candidates.

According to The Athletic, Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White and Gabriel have all stepped up to become leaders to fill the void left by David Luiz who left the club at the end of last season.

The publication believe Arteta has unearthed Ramsdale, White, and Gabriel as his new leaders - making them the three leading picks to replace Aubameyang as skipper.
